STAY CLASSY WOODEND ;)

Woodend is famous for its magnificent Queenslander style homes, but let's face it, Queenslanders can be high maintenance. Who wants to be painting their house and spending thousands of dollars every 10 years or so? Don't get me wrong Queenslanders are beautiful. In fact, I live in a Queenslander and my place needs painting, badly.

The beauty about this place is it doesn't need painting and it won't for a long time - it's extremely low maintenance. The current owners have transformed the garden into a formal, yet relaxed, low maintenance space. Unlike its neighbouring Queenslanders, it proudly wears original terracotta tiles - again low maintenance.

Enough about how low maintenance this home is, it’s the stunning features on the inside that will make you instantly feel at home. Three large bedrooms all with A/C and fresh carpets. It has a bathroom, which is very handy to have when you need to GO to the bathroom ;). The bathroom shows off the original, groovy terrazzo flooring which suits this home perfectly.

From the bathroom, you step through the stunning, original lead-light doors into the lounge and dining room. If you look up you'll see decorative cornices and if you look down, beautifully polished floors throughout. White plantation shutters on the windows help create the French Provincial feel and the chandeliers make you feel like Annie at Daddy Warbucks place.

From the dining room you flow into the spacious modern kitchen with a double porcelain sink that looks like it could have been made at Ipswich's Dinmore Pottery. It wasn’t, but it looks like it could have ;). The kitchen also boasts plenty of storage space and a recently installed double oven - a home Masterchefs dream.

Just when you think you’ve seen the whole house, you realise there is an internal staircase that leads to the downstairs laundry, a second toilet, single car garage with plenty of storage space and a massive rumpus room - that is currently being use as a kids play area and band practice space for a very amateur drummer with no rhythm.

If you have a small family, you like the finer things in life and want to be within walking distance to the CBD, Boys Grammar, St. Eddy’s and St. Mary’s College and Primary School, then this is the place for you. The self-proclaimed OCD owners have left no stone unturned when it comes to preparing their home to go on the market.
